The BBard of Trustees of the Thus Branigan Memorial Library met
on Tuesday, January 30, 1968, in the Librariants Office, Members present
were mrs. Roach, Mrs, Swartz, Mr, Shannon, besides the Librarian and
Secretary of the Board, Miss Caffey, Mr. Shannon presided.
Minutes of the Fovember 27th meeting were approved as road.
Piss Caffey reported for Mr. Taylor that the rentor of the Youse
on Court Street had been injured in an accident. Be will pay his January
rent as soon as be can. She also reported t%A'the Girl Scouts Officials
lad asked permission to repaint their Offices. Permission granted.
As Mrs, Gertrude Humphries retired on December 31, 1967, the Board
"- discussed bemnbest to fill her position as Assistant Librarian, this person
must lee eligible for a Professional Librarian's CertificatAis in New Mexico,
which sequires that the person have a Master's Degree in Library Science
from a Library School Accredited by the Amerisan Library Association, This.
poettion may have to be advertised. Mr. Shannon will discuss with the City
Personnel Officer the salary for this job.
Miss Caffey reported a total of approximately 164,000.00 in the Branigan
Book Fund as'' of-!Jdnusry 17, 1968. For a msber of years the City Treasurer bad
submitted a monthly itemised report on the Branigan Fund to the Library Board.
This type of,report has not been made to the Board in some time. Mrs. Roach
moved that the City Treasurer be asked to submit such a monthly report to
the Board, Mrs. Swartz seconded. Motion carried,
