The Board of Trustees of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library
mat on Tuesday, December 31, 1968, in the Librarian's office. Members
® present were Mrs. Swartz, Mr. Bunyan, Mr. Fielder, Mr. Taylor, and the
Librarian and secretary of the board, Miss Caffey. Mr. Taylor presided.
Minutes of the November 26th meeting were approved as read.
Mr. Tgjrlor reported that he had discussed with the mayor the situa-
tion concerning library salaries and the filling of positions.
A letter from the City Manager, dated December 16, 1968, was read
and discussed by the Board. The letter concerned the purchase of the
Stull property for future library expansion.
After due discussion, it was moved by Mr. Fielder that the Board
ask the City Commission to proceed with the negotiations for a bond
issue to purchase the Stull property for the library through 10-year
revenue bonds, providing the bond repayment will coma from the income
from the Stull property and not from the revenue derived from the
Branisaa estate. Mrs. Swartz seconded the motIZ7- -L,,,,, Fn 711-1
The Library Board expressed the desire to be kept informed of the
developments concerning the issuing of the proposed revenue bonds.
Mr. Bunysa suggested that perhaps that the city could look into the
lease agreements that the present tenants have on the Stull property.
The Board makes this inquiry to be sure that adequate revenue
will be provided to pay the interest on the proposed revenue bonds.
The Board also expressed an interest in the city acquiring the rest
of t the property north .of. the Library. -
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned.
