Alameda Blvd. Members Present: Marcel Nicolitz, Chairman; Cyndi Rhodes; David M inez; Members absent: Marla Ridgway, Tom Kellner, Richard Parra, George Jarden Staff: Robert Caldwell, Ex-Officio; Letty Garcia, Recording Secretary. Rob Caldwell stated that Burger Time is on board as a Sponsor at $500.00 in cash. Cyndi Rhodes stated Comcast has agreed to $2,500 cash and$4,000 air time and will produce 1-30-second commercial. Their sponsorship commitment is for The 4"h of July Street Fest Presented by Comcast Cable. Marcel Nicolitz stated he has not had time to talk to the people from the X-Prize about their sponsorship. David Martinez stated that he will approach Jack Key on sponsorship for about $1,000 and three cars. Rob Caldwell stated what we have done in the past with Sibsbarro is that they have given us $1,000 and it has been used for advertising or Polo shirts. They have also provided us with cars. David Martinez stated that he would go back to Sisbarro to see if they would like to continue with their sponsorship. Rob Caldwell will e-mail the sponsorship packet to David Martinez. Rob Caldwell stated that the committee needs to determine what to do with the money that is received from sponsorships. The Committee decided that $1,000 of the Wells Fargo money would be used for committee shirts. That would leave $3,000 remaining in sponsorship dollars. Rob Caldwell suggested buying caps,pins, and American flags, and extra t-shirts with the remaining amount. David Martinez asked who lends us the golf carts. Rob Caldwell stated that it was a trade-out program that the City of Las Cruces has with the Las Cruces Country Club. Rob Caldwell stated that S&H RV would provide the RV's. -1 Fourth of July g Meetin Page 2 May 4, 2005 Marcel Nicolitz asked if we spent money on food on the 3rd in the VIP tent. Rob Caldwell stated that food was donated by Wal-Mart and Garduno's and this year we will only need it for one day. He also stated that he talked with Curtis Rosemond and Walmart would provide food again this year. Marcel Nicolitz stated that maybe we should approach Garduno's and give them the right of first refusal. Rob Caldwell stated that committee members should commit to be at the park to assist with the parade setup. Marcel Nicolitz asked if the committee could get an RV for the park. Rob Caldwell stated we would need two RVs for Buddy Guy, two for Tierria, one for committee members, one for the fireworks guys and one for Financial Services. That's a total of seven RV's. Rob Caldwell stated that we could provide tents at the park. Marcel Nicolitz stated that he will talk to Jim Navarez about using the tents. Rob Caldwell stated that we have used Rent-X for tents in the past. Marcel Nicolitz asked what items do we rent from Rent-X.. Rob Caldwell stated we rent tents, chairs, tables and grills. Rob Caldwell stated that he still has not received Pepsi and Coca-Cola proposals. He has talked with both and they have indicated that they would try and have it for the meeting of May the 18th Marcel Nicolitz suggested that we make some changes in the parade route. Parade Cash Awards will be the same level as last year. Marcel Nicolitz stated that the entry form will state "if you do not have an entry form and a number, you will not be allowed in the staging area." David Martinez stated that they will stage them into groups of A, B and C. Marcel Nicolitz stated the staging time will be A-5:00 B-6:00 and C-7:00. Cyndi Rhodes stated that she did not think it was a good thing to have the MC along Solano. Fourth of July Meeting Page 3 May 4, 2005 Rob Caldwell stated that it's easier to have the MC at Meerscheidt and that's why we have it there. Rob Caldwell stated that we need a comment from the Chairman that all committee members will show for the parade and work, with the exception of Richard Parra because he needs to be with the vendors. Marcel Nicolitz stated that each committee person should have an assigned set of volunteers to give guidance to. Marcel Nicolitz asked Cyndi Rhodes if she could contact the Conquistadors to assist again this year with the parade. Rob Caldwell stated that he would change the phone message. David Martinez stated that his wife would call for the phone messages. Marcel Nicolitz stated that he talked with Oscar from the Pic Quik stores and he agreed to let us put the entry forms at all Pic Quiks. Cyndi Rhodes stated that there are two new advertising/media sponsors which are Comcast and Las Cruces Sun-News. Cyndi Rhodes and Tom Kellner met with the advertising director from the Sun-News. Cyndi Rhodes stated that the Sun-News wants something in writing of what they receive in exchange for their sponsorship. Rob Caldwell that Cyndi and Tom need to put a packet together to present to the Sun- News that will be within the committee guide lines that were discussed by the Committee in previous meetings. Meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
