Dasing - present Disabled American Veterans - B. Ferguson - present Marine Corps League - J. Petrowsky - present Military Officers Assn - L. Candelaria - absent Reserve Officers Assn - D. Reyna - present Special Forces Assn - B. Bladerrama - present Veterans of Foreign Wars 3242 - C. Padilla - absent Veterans of Foreign Wars 6917 - J.R. Turner - present Veterans of Foreign Wars 10124 - V. Aragona - absent Viet Nam Veterans of America - J. Jaramillo - absent At Large Member #1 - C. Revie - present At Large Member #2 - absent Guests/Representatives D. Archuleta -Mayor's Rep, City of Las Cruces, & L. Garcia - Senator D. Domenici, Minutes of Last Meeting: Copies passed out to all attendees. Motion to approve: K. Dasing Second: B. Ferguson Committee Reports: Museum - Report by K. Dasing - Funds for Museum were cut from capital outlay. Vetoed by State Legislature. Brick Sidewalk - Report by K. Dasing - Brochures being printed, will be ready by next week. City employee who oversaw project, resigned. Homeless Veterans Housing Project - Report by K. Dasing - Grants are being written. Will be a Federal VA Transitional Shelter. Local veteran organizations will be asked to sponsor a dormitory. VA Hospital is interested in having a clinic at the Transitional Shelter. Old Business: Water fountain at Veterans Park - Councilor Archuleta reported that the fountain has been fixed. City is looking at installing a pet fountain also. New Business : An election was held for a Chairman of this Board. K. Dasing was nominated. by C. Revie. No other candidates were nominated. Dasing elected Chairman by acclamation by 5 votes in favor. K. Dasing nominated J.R. Turner for the Secretary position. Seconded by D. Reyna. No Ln other candidates. J. R. Turner elected Secretary by acclamation by 7 votes in favor. Good of the Order: The American Flag at Veterans Park is worn and tattered. Councilor Archuleta will look into this. Three hundred and ninety four names from the Persian Gulf War have been submitted for the Wall at Veterans Park. Cost of $50,000 to put names on the wall and to make corrections. The upcoming Memorial Weekend, the Las Cruces Sun News will print the names of the Gulf War veterans to be placed on the Wall. J.R. Turner made a motion to adjourn, seconded by K. Dasing. There being no further business to discuss, meeting was adjourned at 09:50 hrs.
