There was no quorum for the previous meeting of May 25, 2010 and no minutes were taken.

1. Frank Geisel presented a brief description of the plans for a United Veterans Council ceremony to be
conducted at Veterans Park on Friday, June 25, 2010 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the
beginning of the.Korcan liar.
2. Upcoming date for flying the Garrison Flag at Veterans Park is July 4, 2010, Independence Day.
3. Members in attendance asked Frank Geisel to discuss with the Mayor what the city feels about
continued VAB operation and to see if the city would appoint an appropriate liaison to attend the board
mectings. Also,terms of appointment are due to expire shortly—what is to be done?
Good of the Veterans
Veterans Organizations:
1. American Legion Post 10 reminded that the post has a garage sale on the I' Saturday of each month
from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
2. Charlie Revic issued copies of the Summer 201.0 Official Journal of the Uniformed Services Disabled
Retirees. Additional copies are available.
Community Organizations:
1. J.R. Turner stated that veterans claims processing is speeding up. It is suggested that veterans be
advised to use care in responding to solicitations by lawyers to help with VA claims.
2. Bill McCamey announced that a Film training program for veterans is in progress.
3. Melanie Goodman presented a brief update from Senator Bingaman's office on Senate activity with
respect to support of veterans.
4. Jackie Williams provided a brief update on VA Clinic activities.
5. Art Terrazas issued a handout reflecting Representative Teague's work in support of veterans.
The next meeting will be at 9 a.m.on Tuesday,July 27,2020.
